Stratospheric Ozone
|
- Both Layers of Ozone are made from the same compound O3
- Main component of smog
- enhances the process of global warming - created by chemical reactions in the troposphere - can reach unhealthy levels on sunny days - can be moved by the wind - also known as "Bad" ozone |
- Protects humans from ultraviolet rays
- occurs naturally in the stratosphere - can be depleted by CFCs - extends upward from 6 to 30 miles - also known as "Good" ozone |
